Terms of service

The agreement between you and SlingHook when you use the service or buy a plan.

Last updated 11 October 2026

Who we are

SlingHook is a webhook gateway and debugger run by Fulcrum Software, based in South Africa (“SlingHook”, “we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between us and you, the person or organisation using SlingHook (“you”). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you use SlingHook for an organisation, you confirm you can accept these terms for it.

Questions about these terms: support@example.com.

Payments and Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

When you buy a paid plan you buy it from Paddle, which resells SlingHook to you. Paddle’s Buyer Terms apply to the purchase and its privacy notice covers the payment details it collects. We never see or store your full card number.

The service

SlingHook gives you public URLs (“endpoints”) that receive HTTP requests (“webhooks”), shows them in a dashboard, stores them for your plan’s history period, and can forward or replay them to targets you choose, including your own machine through the SlingHook CLI.

We improve SlingHook all the time, so features change. Features labelled “Soon” on the pricing page are not part of a plan until they ship. We will not remove a core feature from a paid plan during a period you have already paid for.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18, and give a working email address.
  • Keep your password and API tokens secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account and tokens. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.
  • One person per login. Do not share a paid account between people to avoid buying Team.

Plans, billing and renewal

  • Free. The Free plan costs nothing and has the limits shown on the pricing page. We may change those limits with notice.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • Cancelling. Cancel any time from Settings → Billing. You keep the paid plan until the end of the period you paid for, then the account moves to Free and history older than the Free limit is deleted.
  • Changing plans. Upgrades, downgrades and switches between monthly and yearly take effect straight away and are prorated by Paddle.
  • Price changes. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription. It applies from your next renewal after that, so you can cancel first.
  • Taxes. Paddle adds VAT, GST or sales tax where the law requires. Prices may differ by country.
  • Usage over the allowance. Paid plans keep capturing events past their monthly allowance. Overage is not charged today. If we start charging it, we will tell you at least 30 days before.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Paddle retries it for a while. If it still fails, the account moves to Free.

Refunds are covered by our refund policy.

Acceptable use

Do not use SlingHook to:

  • break the law, or receive, store or send content you have no right to;
  • host phishing pages, malware, or anything meant to deceive people who open an endpoint URL;
  • send requests to systems you do not own or have permission to test, or use relay and replay to attack, scan or flood anyone;
  • send payment card numbers, health records or other special categories of personal data through SlingHook unless you need them for debugging and are allowed to process them;
  • get around plan limits, rate limits or security controls, or resell SlingHook without our written agreement;
  • overload the service. Unlimited endpoints are subject to a fair use ceiling of 500 per account.

We may block requests, pause endpoints or suspend accounts that break these rules or put the service or other users at risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

Your data

You own the requests your endpoints receive and anything else you put into SlingHook (“your data”). You give us permission to host, process, display, forward and replay your data only to run SlingHook for you. You are responsible for having the right to send your data to SlingHook, and for the targets you relay it to.

We delete request history when it passes your plan’s history period, when you delete it, or when you close your account. Pinned requests and saved scenarios stay until you delete them. How we handle personal information is explained in our privacy policy.

Availability and support

We work hard to keep SlingHook fast and available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and there is no uptime guarantee unless a Business agreement says otherwise. Providers usually retry webhooks they could not deliver, but do not rely on SlingHook as the only record of events that matter in production.

Support is by email at support@example.com. We aim to reply within two business days.

Closing your account

You can stop using SlingHook at any time. To close your account and delete its data, email support@example.com from the address on the account. Cancel any paid subscription first, or we will cancel it for you when we close the account.

We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms after warning you by email where we can. If we stop offering SlingHook altogether we will give at least 30 days’ notice and refund any unused part of a prepaid period.

Liability

SlingHook is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties such as fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for SlingHook in the 12 months before the claim (or US$50 if that is more).

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract, including under the South African Consumer Protection Act or the consumer laws of your country.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Before going to court, please write to us so we can try to resolve the problem. If you are a consumer, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as SlingHook changes. For changes that matter, we will email account holders at least 14 days before they apply. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using SlingHook after a change applies, the new terms apply to you; if you do not agree, you can close your account.
